slatted decorative shelving unit made from spalted slatted decorative shelving unit made from spalted beech. Love the grain and the contrasts in the spalted wood! We had a wall that only had our fuse board box on it and this nicely tidies it up. Finished with osmo polyx hardwax oil, Matt finish. This was my first attempt at making a chair, the angles were difficult to work out and I was nervous the whole build about how sturdy it would be. This was also my first attempt at upholstery and I could definitely do a better job next time around. I decided half way through that if I could sit on it and it does not break or sway that I would be happy, secondly that if it was comfortable I would be delighted, the first part came true, the seat is comfortable, however the back rest is not due to the angle of it and I might replace it. The backrest has epoxy to solidify the knots and cracks which looks lovely. Solid wood wool holder and knitting needle holder, Solid wood wool holder and knitting needle holder, not my functional design, but I redone it in my style. €45 for oak, €55 for walnut, other timbers can be quoted. This is an ingenious way of using magnets to hold a dowel and allow the dowel to spin to allow the wool to be pulled free. Had to retry with stronger magnets, which worked great. 320mm high, 175mm wide and deep. #woolholder #dıy #woodworker #knitting #crochet #handmade #wood #wooddesign
